Le LARTES-IFAN a développé le Programme de Remédiation Élémentaire (PRE) dans les Académies de Kaffrine, Kolda et Matam au Sénégal. L'objectif principal du programme est de systématiser l'évaluation et la remédiation à partir d'une application informatique et de ressources pédagogiques physiques pour améliorer les performances des élèves en lecture et en mathématiques en français et en arabe. Le programme a touché 42 423 élèves dans 76 écoles. Le PRE a été mis en œuvre avec une forte implication des autorités académiques au niveau central et local, des autorités locales et des communautés.

Depuis 2005, le Sénégal connaît des inondations graves et récurrentes. A Pikine, la banlieue la plus peuplée de Dakar, les inondations de 2009 ont touché un tiers de la population.

Since 2005, Senegal has experienced severe and recurrent flooding. In Pikine, the most populous suburb of Dakar, the 2009 floods affected a third of the population. The government mobilized major investment for drainage and water retention infrastructure, as well as for development of resettlement sites for affected households. However, little is known about the responses, expectations and solutions of those affected. To address this gap we examine the experiences of people living in the commune of Yeumbeul Nord in the city of Pikine around the flood events of 2005, 2009 and 2012.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, resource managers often promote community-based tourism (CBT) around national parks as a winwin strategy for local sustainable development and conserving biodiversity. In Senegal, however, the social, economic, and environmental impacts of CBT remain elusive. Important aspects of the former French colonial policies are still reflected in the ways national parks in Senegal are managed. Such policy framework is inconsistent with participatory management approaches and overall goals of tourism development.

Basé sur les données du baromètre de la qualité de l’éducation « Jàngandoo » 2019 portant sur 16 200 ménages, cet article analyse les vulnérabilités auxquelles font face les ménages au Sénégal suivant quatre dimensions : leurs conditions de vie, la fréquence des difficultés à se nourrir, à se soigner et à payer les frais de scolarité des enfants.
