Atelier au Ghana : Strategic Development Program : Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) is launching an organizational Strategic Development Program (SDP) for sub-Saharan African implementers of foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) programs.

A key goal of BMGF’s strategic focus in global education is to improve FLN outcomes at scale in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). An important driver of this is improving the quality of implementation of FLN programs rooted in the classroom level with rigorous focus on teaching and learning. To achieve this most effectively, a pipeline of expert, locally led implementing organizations is needed, who can take a leading role in working with sub-Saharan African governments to design and implement, drive, and sustain improvements in FLN outcomes at scale.
